'better lands' is heading to a TV series!!!
Hi, I'm Susan Clawson, the author of this 5-book 'better lands" drama dystopian series, and am excited for you to begin the journey!
But first, a little about me.
I am a true New Englander who grew up in northern Vermont. I went to a high school that was referred to as "cow valley high" since it was in the midst of farmlands. Believe me, cows surrounded it! The college I attended was nestled in the foothills of the green mountain state, with no bright lights and glitz surrounding it. It was back in the days of no cell phones and the internet, but believe me, we found enough things to do that kept life interesting!
It was in those times that I first started writing poetry and short stories that were for my eyes only, well some friends and family were privies to it as well. For nostalgic reasons, I wish I could reread it all again, but the material is long lost from my many moves before I settled, married, and had 3 children.
During the years of single motherhood, I wrote and published the start of a sci-fi 'time travel' trilogy which I never completed as life sent me in a different direction. Years later, and still amazed it happened, I reconnected with my first high school sweetheart on classmates.com, and we eventually married and moved to Massachusetts. With all the kids grown and out of the house, I had the urge to write again. Due to the pandemic restrictions, what better topic to pick than a current one that everyone could relate to?
This fictional story has been picked up for film and a possible series - so stay tuned!
In the meantime, grab a copy, sit back, relax and join Rosa, Jean-Pierre, Blitz, and hundreds of others who survived a 4-year pandemic that wiped out over 2/3 of the world’s breathing population as they embark on a 45-day tempestuous foot journey from Vermont to Kentucky searching for virus-free lands.
Find out if the virus is the real threat to the survivors, or what happens among them as they trudge through the wilderness encountering new relationships full of romance, friction, violence, and even death. Who will survive and reach the better lands? What is in store for them once they arrive? Will it be a life of happily ever after, or more turmoil?
I hope that you enjoy the journey to the ‘better lands’.
